Men can CRY!
Men can cry
Read that again and take it easy!
We live in a patriarchal society that is aggressive and driven. It’s supposed to be strong as led by men but has suppressed men itself under the nonsensical pressure of patriarchy.
So how does patriarchy pressurizes men?
By putting men into a box and telling them, this is where you belong and This is how you should behave.
Shhh hide your emotions,
Hey, you can’t talk about it
Please don’t share your feelings
Keep it to yourself
You can’t cry
Be Responsible
Study well
Find a job
You need to feed a family
You can’t afford to make wrong decisions
Be physically strong
…………………………………………………………………….and what not!!
This society puts MAN's tag on the person who follows the above rules and if not then?
Then, YOU’RE NOT A MAN ENOUGH…
You’re not a man enough because you don’t have control over your emotions.
But how does sharing your emotions makes you less of a man?
It does not!
Men before being “MEN” are humans. They have the right to feel the whole spectrum of human emotions.
If feeling confident, radiant, and angry is fine for men then so is feeling low, disgusted, and crying.
Why is it such a big deal?
It’s high time that we as a society normalize male emotions. It’s okay for them to feel what we all do, it’s okay for them to express their emotions, it’s okay for them to not be strong all the time, it’s okay for them to shake off a little and feel easy, it’s okay for them to not be responsible for each and everything going on around them, it’s okay for them to fail, it’s okay for them to feel broken, it’s okay for them to not fake the smiles and putting that image of idgaf to anything, it’s okay for them to take things as normal as us and so it is okay for them to cry.
The root cause of all this judgment against men is “Complete JUDGMENT”. Stop judging people. Everyone has the right to feel free and feel whatever they actually feel and to be able to express the same without any fear or filter.
While holding her hands as high
Full of disguise
He was standing in front of her
As she cried,
You’re not a man enough
As you can’t get me the moon
You’re not a man enough
As you can’t break me through
You’re not a man enough
As you always cry
You’re not a man enough
As you are a little shy
You’re not a man enough
As you don’t earn as much
You’re not a man enough
As you’re not tall as such
You’re not a man enough
As I fear that you aren’t strong
You’re not a man enough
As you’re always wrong
To which he replied, My lady
I’m a man enough
Coz I can take you through
Through the cave outside
And show you the light
I’ll hold your hands in the night
When you fear a rough sight
My lady, I’m a man enough
As I miss you much
I’m a man enough
Coz I can cry
I can see your pain
And mine
I'm a man enough
As I can feel the emotions
I'm a man enough
As I can express my love
I'm a man enough
As I can laugh as much
I'm a man enough
Coz I've gratitude for you
I'm a man enough
As I always respect you
I'm a man enough
Coz your opinions matter
I’m a man enough
Coz I won't let you shatter
I'm a man enough as
I could have held my hands as high
But I'm a man enough
As I can’t see you cry
I might not be the man enough
To slap or hit or punch or lie
But I'm a man enough
Who choose to love and cry!
